Cabin Fever

Bbbuuuurrr!! It is getting chilly here in New York and with the holidays here I just want to pull over a throw, drink some hot cocoa and cuddle up on the sofa! Yup, that is exactly what I did while catching up on some reading and I couldn’t help notice that there have been a lot of rustic spaces being captured in the design world.

I really enjoyed the December issues this month and thought I would share some of the great rustic spaces we’ve been seeing so read on and let your minds get inspired!

I love how this farmhouse shows off the raw wood details, yet gives a chic feeling to the space using a lucite table and a light color palette. Lets not forget about the gold detailing. What do you think of those sconces?!

This is another chic rustic space with the use of plush fabrics and the purple sofas! I mean, that alone is chic. I love when firewood is used as a design element in a space and really creates its own form, not to mention the reclaimed white oak beams.

Can you believe this is a barn?  I feel like I have gone back in history with this room.

I had to add a picture of the exterior! Isn’t it breathtaking?

Were seeing a lot of oak in these spaces! I really like the contrast of the Belgian bluestone flooring and the antique oak in the entrance, and who wouldn’t want an antler chandelier in their home?

Even with a rustic space you can really play with all different styles like this bohemian inspired home. The colors and textures really jump out at you with the wood backdrop.

Yes, this is a barn, NOT a home and it is certainly ready for Christmas. Talk about a change of scenery for your guest!

The staircase was build out of reclaimed wood and inspired by the arts and crafts movement. I really enjoyed the architectural approach on the stairs.

Fresh, clean, and simple. What’s not to love about this upstate New York cabin.
